Sunday School 9:30 a.m.

Students 2 years old through 5th grade        

The children meet in the Sanctuary for opening Worship and then walk to their classes in the Educational Building.  Parents of children are welcome to attend class with their child to help them overcome shyness.  This class is over at 10:45 a.m.

Students 6th and 7th grades

The children meet in the Sanctuary for opening Worship and then walk to their classes in the Educational Building - a requirement of Confirmation. This class is over at 10:45 a.m.

Students 8th and 12th grades

The students meet in the Youth Room of the Educational Building until class ends at 10:30 a.m.


Confirmation Instructional Classes

5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays during the school year
Confirmation is a second year program for 6th and 7th graders, and requires that they...
  • Personally confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and take personal ownership in declaring by the power of the Holy Spirit, their own allegiance to Christ.
  • Eagerly explore the awesomeness of God and the mysteries of faith.
  • Identify themselves as members, as a unique and special part of the body of Christ, as Lutheran and members of a local congregation.
  • Regularly participate in public worship and the reception of holy communion, encage in personal and group Bible study and its application to life, strive to lead God-pleasing lives and offer services to God by serving others.
  • Celebrate the relationships that hey have with God as their personal God who loves them graciously, their pastor and other confirmation staff people, their peers participating in the confirmation process, their family and other members of their congregation.
Memory work includes the instruction covering Luther's Small Catechism, a short course in the Christian Faith and includes explanation and instruction in:
  • The Ten Commandments
  • The Apostles' Creed
  • The Lord's Prayer
  • The Sacrament of Baptism
  • Confession and Absolution
  • The Sacrament of the Altar
  • Morning and Evening Prayers
  • Grace at Table
Instruction also includes contemporary issues affecting the Christian walk of faith and church membership responsibilities.
After a review of the second year student by the Elders and parents, the student is invited to participate in the Rite of Confirmation. This Rite is usually celebrated on Palm Sunday wherein the student becomes a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and takes their first Communion or Lord's Supper.

Youth Group

All Students from 3rd to 12th grades meet in the Youth Room of the Educational Bldg 6:30pm Wednesdays
May opportunities are provided to get together for fun and fellowship.  Some of the gatherings will be age sensitive such as: Raw Fuel 5th through 9th grades, National Youth Gathering and Glory Bound 9 through 12th grades.  To fund these fellowships our Youth participate in fund raising such as:
  • Aluminum Cans: plastic garbage can located in the Kitchen area of the Fellowship Hall to collect individual cans or bags of cans can be placed next to the outside Storage Building.
  • Cell Phones: collection box in Fellowship Hall located by Sunday School Room #3
  • Printer Ink Cartridges: collection box in Fellowship Hall located by Sunday School Room #3
